Introduction

Over the last 15 weeks, Team 4 has been watching the working environment at Target in Woodbury, New Jersey. We could do our study because Monica Robinson, a member of our team who works there, gave us the information we needed.

Target is an American department store with more than 1,900 locations in all 50 states. Target is known for selling various food, household goods, clothing, and electronics items. They also have pharmacies in mostly all of their stores.

By providing superior products and services at affordable prices, Target distinguishes itself from its competitors.

Target’s Mission Statement

To make Target the preferred shopping destination for our guests by delivering outstanding value, continuous innovation, and exceptional guest experience by consistently fulfilling our Expect More. Pay Less. Brand Promise.”

Team 4 Purpose

In our project, information systems support strategy and provide competitive advantages. For Target, we will conduct an in-depth analysis of their information systems by looking at their strengths, weaknesses, and applications and finding better ways to improve their systems. We will look over the information systems they have used for social media and sales/order fulfillment for the past 3-5 years and recommend strategies and improvements for the future for our dynamic process and structure process.

This blog includes information about the dynamic and structured process. Also, the business strategy that the company uses, the corresponding information systems they utilize, and suggestions our team has made. We'll also go over the many steps that Target takes every day.
